All in the Family

If you know me, you’ve already heard this story, it’s one of my faves. The "Favorite Things about Where You Live" post on My List is Better has prompted me to post it for the world.

When Tb was 3, we changed daycares. He immediately made a new friend. A cute little red-headed boy named Sean. For the next three years, they went to each other’s birthday parties, attended the same preschool and ended up at the same school for kindergarten, but in different classrooms. Well, at the end of the year, the kindergarten classes held a Grandparent’s day. And my mom came up to participate. Each class took their grandparents on a tour of the school. During this tour, Tb’s grandma and Sean’s grandma saw each other. And wondered what the other was doing there. Turns out they are cousins. So here we had been friends with this family and did not even realize that we were related. Weird.

And to add just a bit more weirdness....they are actually "double cousins". The mom’s of the two grandmas were sisters that married brothers.

Thirteen Things about COOTH!!
As some of you know, I have two jobs and go to school part-time. I am taking Friday off from my full-time job and Sunday off from the part-time job. It will be almost like a vacation. Here are 13 things I will get done during my time off:
1. Color my hair.
2. Read Chapters 7 & 9 in my OSHA textbook.
3. Keep Kt’s kitties alive and get me some kitty love.
4. Change the light bulb in the fridge. And the one in the bedroom closet, the dining room, the kitchen and the bedroom lamp.
5. Buy light bulbs.
6. Watch BOTH netflix movies. Shopgirl and Rumor Has It.
7. Clean the bathroom.
8. Take a girlie bath.
9. Take Tb to a movie.
10. Read for pleasure while sitting on The Deck.
11. Return over-due library book and pay my fine.
12. Prepare and enjoy a real meal (or two).

It's over

I'm sorry Kaysar, but it has to be over between us. Although you are so damn pretty, you just aren't smart enough for me. Did you not learn anything from last season? You do not trust people in the other alliance! They will screw you over! Howie actually seems smarter than you right now. At least he thought about putting up one member of the "chilltown" dorks. Maybe you have some sort of a scheme up your sleeve with the veto. But, dude, I think this was a mistake.

Stupid Questions

As some of you already know, I work part-time at our local newspaper as a customer service rep. There are a couple of errors in today's edition. The front page has the wrong date and there is no crossword puzzle. Here are today's stupid questions and how I would like to have answered them:

Q: Do know how many people are going to call you about no puzzle today?
My Wish Answer (MWA): No, I do not. In order to know that, I would have to be psychic. If I was psychic, I would have already won the Powerball and wouldn't have to be working this crap job.

Q: Are you trying to mess with me by putting the wrong date on here?
MWA: Yes sir, we are. It is all part of mass conspiracy just to drive you insane and drain your bank account. See, it's working, we got you to call long distance just to ask that.

Q: Don't you realize that the crossword puzzle is what the old people live for?
MWA: Kill me. Kill me now.

Q: Can you tell me if my classified ad was published today?
My Real Answer: No maam, we are terribly busy and I do not have time to read the paper to check. I'm sorry. (some people!)

Q: Our carrier is leaving the paper on the sidewalk instead of putting it by the door. Will you terminate our subscription?
MWA: Yes maam, I will. It makes so much more sense for you to get dressed and drive to the mini mart to buy a paper for full price. Have a nice day.

It's been a fun morning. Think I'll buy some lottery tickets on the way home.....

Oh and if you are wondering, probably about 40 people called about the damn puzzle.

Yes, I'm a BB addict

My man, Kaysar is HOH this week! WooHoo! And he is also HOT!

I was soooooo glad that Alison was evicted. Now if we can get rid of Booger.....err, I mean Boogie (hate hate hate him)...... but I suppose Kaysar will have to go after Will. Too bad for Howie, he seems smitten.

I must be the only person who still dislikes Jase. I couldn't believe the "Jase-love-fest" that was broadcast last night. He is an ass and may be hiding that right now, but I'm positive it will show up again.

I like the move to Sundays. Now, I can watch BB and then The 4400. Yes, I am quite pathetic.

I also caught a bit of America's Got Talent on Bravo last night. Got to see the ventriloquist again. He is good, I may have to vote for him. However, I don't think he'll make it to the next round.

Next week, we have auditors showing up here. My life will become hell. I am really dreading this because it is our first audit since I have been in my current position. My predecessor left under not so great terms and really didn't do much in the way of training me. I have had to learn alot of my job on my own. Good thing I'm so damn smart. (heehee). But we have 2 other people in new positions and all of us have agreed that we will take this audit as a learning experience. May the Force be with us.

I must go do something productive. Ugh.

A Day at the Beach

My son and his half-sister have recently gotten back in touch and part of the way they are communicating is through me. She has a MySpace page, which is how I found her, and I have set one up so she could at least see what Tb looks like. Yesterday, I finally got around to scanning this picture so she could see it.

The day this picture was taken, Tb and I were playing at the beach (duh) and a cute little girl came over and wanted to play with him. I looked around to see if she was with anyone, and she was. It turned out that this was Tb's sister. She was about 7 at the time and her family was over at another part of the lake. She was so sweet and so friendly. I would have loved to have spent more time with her, and really wanted to take a pic of the two of them together, but was afraid that the sperm donor or his wife might see us and go ballistic. So, instead, I took the chickenshit route and left. It was the only time they have ever "met". Shortly after this, their family moved to California and they still live there today. So who knows if the two of them will ever meet. I hope that they do.

It's too hot to post

For all my fan out there (that would be you Tug) my apologies for not blogging. End of the year at work. Mucho reading and a paper due for class tonight. And a test I am no where close to being prepared for. *Sigh*

But, I'll be back soon, I promise.

I think a couple of degrees warmer and she will be nekkid. It's hot here today. And will be for the next week. Hot hot hot.

heeheehee!

Well, school started last night, class is Training and Development. There are 3 other people in my class and they all know each other from previous classes. I feel like I've crashed a party. Oh well, I'll get over it! Really like the teacher, she actually has a real job in human resources. This is a good sign. Looks like we will have a lot of homework, so I may actually learn something.

JJJJJJJJJ
Kt's birthday was fun. We had some time on The Deck. I've given up on becoming bronze. I'll settle for beige. Guess I'm too Scandanavian to tan. We also went to The Devil Wears Prada, it was good. I so don't get fashion, but found it entertaining none-the-less. Then we went to a local Mexican restaurante and had a good dinner and of course, tequila! yum. Followed that by a trip to the gas station.....and then back to The Deck to sorta watch the fireworks. I had a good day, hope she did too.
JJJJJJJJJ
Finally broke down and bought Tb a cheapo mattress. I can't stand him sleeping on the couch any more! Today, I bring the mattress home and can once again, enjoy my mornings. No more of this>>>>>

He and his mess and funky teen-age boy smell will now be in a room that has a door. That I can close.

That will be the best part of today.

JJJJJJJJJ

The next best part will be Big Brother All Stars premiers tonight. I'm pretty excited about this. So glad my Thursday night class was moved to Tuesdays! (Also glad because 10 weeks of OSHA will be way better than 11 weeks.) Can't wait to see who America voted into the house (Kaysar!!), who CBS wants to torture us with (Alison and Howie, most likely) and what the alleged "biggest twist yet!" will be.

JJJJJJJJJ

Supposed to be a hot one today. Forecast says 99. It's not even noon yet and it's 84. Hot and dry. Wonder if my weather pixie will get nekkid? It's like kindling out there. Chance of thunderstorms tomorrow. Sure hope we get some rain. I want to grill again!
