Big Tits*

Technically, I guess it's an udder....but it's big! Meet Salem Sue - the world's largest holstein. Yan and I stopped on our way home to take her picture. It was very cold and very windy up on the hill! Here is a pic of Yan and Sue. Yan is about 5'6" tall to give you an idea of how big Sue is.
I really don't get why they had to put those veins on there-- ick!

*Site meter should have some fun with that title!!

ROADTRIP!!!!

Tomorrow, Kt, I mean Yan, and I are hitting the road. She is going on her last official out-of-town trip for our agency. I'm going for a ride in the car. We are heading off to Bowman. She is looking at an old house that may or may not be eligible to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. I'm going because it will be an opportunity for us to spend a day together before she moves on. Geez, just typing that makes me tear up. These next couple of weeks are going to suck big time.

Tug and I spent a great deal of time in Bowman during high school....it's where all the cute boys lived! In fact one of our more "infamous" capers involved a trip to Bowman. We each told our parents we were staying with the other and drove over to Bowman, came back the next day. We really thought we were smart...We had fun though. Met a cute boy named Duh-wayne. He was tall, drove a Chevette. He wanted to take a shower with me. Weird. Not sure that it was worth being grounded until I was 42.

Tomorrow's trip will make a new memory. It will be fun, but sad. Great friends like Yan don't come along every day....

Newsworthy

Last month our communications officer received a request from a local television reporter for ideas for stories for sweeps month. He does a series called "Off the Beaten Path" and was looking for items of interest in Western North Dakota or Eastern Montana. I suggested this interesting tidbit from my old stomping grounds.

Must be a slow news day....

Must be Quiz Day

Your IQ Is 115

Your Logical Intelligence is Above Average

Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius

Your Mathematical Intelligence is Genius

Your General Knowledge is Average

A Quick and Dirty IQ Test

I gotta admit ---- I only took this one because it was dirty...and I have a dirty mind.

Spice Girl

You Are Garlic
Of all the spice types, you are the most universally loved.
You get long with pretty much everyone, and you leave a lasting impression.
You adapt yourself well to situations. You can fit in or stand out, depending on what you're called on to do.

Counting

Kt (or Yan as she is going by these days) is leaving in 23 days. She is moving 1798 miles away. I don't like this at all. But I'm happy for her anyway.

This one time, when I was out at the front desk, I was doing something that required me to count. I made some tick marks similar to the picture on a piece of scratch paper and left them there. When the stinky receptionist came back, she had some sort of weird freak-out over the marks. So, another time when I was out there, I did it again. Just because. I wasn't really counting anything, just counting on her freaking out. And she did. On Wednesday this week, I did it one more time and guess what? She freaked again. Unfortunately, she brought her stinky self all the way back to my cubicle to ask me what they were which left a nasty funk in my air. What is so bad, scary, weird about these marks? Am I missing something? Oh well, I enjoy being evil.

Big Brother is on the air again...and of course, I'm watching it. Not impressed so far. I was uber-excited before it aired because I thought there were 3 gay boys in the cast, turns out there were only 2. Then one of them had to leave for some sort of personal issue....now there is but 1. Bummer.

Movie Reviews

I saw some movies!! Two of them were actually in a movie theatre!!

Kt and I went to see "Juno" on Valentine's Day, because what says Happy VD more than an unplanned teen pregnancy? Then the Tb and I went to see "Jumper" on Saturday and Kt and I watched "Martian Child" on Saturday night.

Juno - Loved, loved, loved the movie. Loved the dialogue. Loved the actors. Loved the soundtrack. Loved that it made me laugh. Loved that it made me cry. Loved, loved, loved the movie. Bonus - I also bought the soundtrack CD, cuz the music is grooooovy!

Jumper - I knew nothing about this movie other than that it was something both Tb and I would like and that it played at a time we could get to it. It was pretty good. I wish there would have been more explanation into why he could jump and why the bad guys want to kill them. But wait...are they the bad guys? Samuel L. Jackson was on Rachel Ray yesterday and said that maybe they weren't the bad guys....there could be two more movies coming....maybe they will explain more. Or I could read the books. But I won't.

Martian Child - Disclaimer: I would be willing to watch John Cusack peel potatoes for two hours. I liked this movie. John was cute, the boy was cute, Joan Cusack was in it - love her too. It was a good story.

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!!

You Are Jan Brady

Brainy and a little introverted, you tend to think life is a lot worse than it actually is.And while you may think you're a little goofy looking, most people consider you to be a major babe.

What Brady are you?

WTF?!?! It's February!?!

Geez - where is this year going? And how great am I doing at the whole "blog more often" thing? I have a few in the works....just haven't finished them.

Yesterday I started journalling again. Not the kind of journal you all are probably thinking of. It is this journal.....

...a Weight Watchers Food Journal. My new mantra: "Journal, journal, journal." As much as I love the Core Plan, I have to do the Flex Plan. I feel so good when doing Core, but really have trouble sticking to it. So, I'm back to counting points and writing it all down. Yesterday, I ate 2 points over the recommended points for my weight. Four more than I wanted to. And failed miserably at the 5 servings of fruit and vegetables recommendation. But I wrote it all down.

Saturday night I made the news. Must have been a slow news day here because they actually showed footage of me knitting. Unfortunately, there is no video link for this story, because I know how fascinated the world would be to see me knitting.

I found a new time sucker. I joined Ravelry. It's a knitting community. Still in beta so you have to have an invite to join, but it sure is fun. You can keep track of your WIP's, FO's, Stash and needles. {WIP - Work in Progress. FO - Finished Object. Stash - yarn you bought but haven't used yet. Needles - knitting needles obviously.} You can put projects you want to do in your queue, make new friends on the message boards....all kinds of fun. They link through flickr for the photos, so if you are checking my flickr page and NOT into yarn....sorry.....

My parents are on a cruise to Cozumel as I write this. I'm so jealous. We got about 4 inches of snow yesterday.....I bet there is no snow in Cozumel. It's probably warm too.

School is going pretty good. Still not overly enthused about the on-line class, but gotta do it. I'm a bit stressed out about homework this week - Just had WAY TOO MUCH! Might have to take some time off tomorrow so I'm ready for accounting class tomorrow night.

My friend Kt is leaving me. She got two job offers last week. And now, she will be moving far, far away. I'm bummed. But really happy for her.
